This week take a look at the following link on how to do basic Genealogy GOOGLE searches. You will need to do this from home since this is a Youtube video which we aren’t allowed to view at the center.
Note: If you can’t get the video to work in the browser you are using, try a different one like Chrome or Firefox. I was able to view it in Internet Explorer, but I had to check “Show all Content” at the bottom of the page.
The google searches they show are
1. Try searching a website for one word or phrase, Example- site: familysearch.org nauvoo. This will search all of familysearch.org for the word Nauvoo.
2. Search for an ancestor using + and -. Example: “Aaron Underwood” +Florida. (I tried this search and found something I had never seen before.)
Challenge: Once you watch the video, try different Google Searches. I tried it and found information on one of my end of the line ancestors that gave me possible parents. Let me know if you find something new.
