This book is on the bookshelf in our Lindon Family History center. If you or someone in your ward knows that their ancestor pulled a handcart with the early church members, this would be a great book to read. We hear a lot about the Martin and Willie handcart companies because of their many trials, but what about the other handcarts that came west? They also experienced trials and difficulties along the way.
This book describes 6 different hand cart companies that traveled between 1856 to 1860. You can read some of the diaries and journals that were kept along the trail. There is also a map of the hand cart route and the names of all the members of each company. The authors also included various songs that were sung along the trail.
Even if you donít have Mormon pioneer ancestors, take a look at the information you can find in this book, it could help a ward member one day. If you would like a copy, you can purchase this book at Amazon.com.
