US Military Records by James C. Neagles is a book located in the bookshelf at the Family History Center. For this week, I have put the book in the front of the room by the Projection Screen.
This is a guide to Federal and State Sources covering Colonial America to the present. Just browse through some of the table of contents and look at topics that might interest you. The first Chapter of the book has examples of war documents for various wars.
In Chapter 8, beginning on page 195, there is information on each US state. Each state lists the wars and historical background of that state. The state archives address and phone number is listed which often houses war records. Some of these are microfilmed or in books.
If someone comes to the center asking about military records, pull this book out if you are having trouble finding information online.
